Technology Should Help People Do Meaningful Work

The Human IT Company is a Canadian-owned managed IT services company based in Greater Vancouver, British Columbia.

Since 2007, we have supported charities, nonprofits, associations and other mission-driven organizations across BC, including organizations with employees throughout Canada.

We provide managed IT support, cybersecurity, Microsoft 365, cloud services and technology planning. But our purpose is simpler: to make technology feel calm, understandable and supportive for the people who rely on it.

Our Story

Our founder, Jeremy Colwell, began working in IT support in 1994. Over the years, he worked in government, multinational manufacturing and other IT service companies.

Across every environment, he noticed the same problem: technology was usually approached from the technical point of view. The person needing help often came second.

Jeremy was raised by grandparents who believed in the Golden Rule, fairness and treating every person with respect. Those values did not always seem to fit the IT industry he knew, so in 2007 he built a company around them.

In 2012, charities and nonprofits became a deliberate focus of the business. The reason was not complicated: helping organizations that strengthen their communities made the work more meaningful.

Over time, the ideas and actions around Giving Back became central to who we are and the future we want to help create.
